A Record Year for Today’s Golfer

The venerable golf media brand, Today’s Golfer, is eyeing further growth in 2026 following an impressive year. A blend of increased investment in editorial content and a stylish new look for their magazine has spurred this success.

Unprecedented Growth in Digital and Print

Over the last year, Today’s Golfer has seen a remarkable 70% boost in website traffic, alongside a 72% increase in commercial content sales. Their print presence is equally robust, with a 7% rise in the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) figures. Maintaining a stalwart 70% market share in the UK’s golf magazine sector is no mean feat.

The brand can now boast of reaching over 3 million avid golfers each month across various platforms, including digital, print, video and social media. Their comprehensive content encompasses equipment testing, instructional advice, news, and renowned Top 100 course rankings.

Meeting the Enthusiasts’ Expectations

Editor Chris Jones remarked on the diligent research undertaken before relaunching the print magazine. “We engaged deeply with our readers, inquiring about their playing habits and much more. The result is a refreshed publication that mirrors their expectations,” he explained.

Golfers are keen to enhance their skills, and a robust 93% of readers have expressed this desire. Thus, the ‘Play Better’ section has been expanded, featuring tips from respected local coaches.

Equipment, too, is of great interest. Readers asked for more insightful content, leading to a bolstered equipment section with a bevy of new features, writers, and expert reviews.

Emphasising Club Golf and Local Coverage

Beyond the professional game, readers crave more club-level content, including coverage of club rules, the World Handicap System (WHS), and accessible courses. Additionally, there’s an appetite for equipment deals and an exploration of issues affecting regular golfers.

According to Digital Editor Rob Jerram, the editorial team has been strengthened with industry veterans: Alex Lodge as Equipment Editor, Alex Perry as News Editor, and Ben Parsons as Senior Digital Writer. Notably, former Sky Sports Golf Editor Keith Jackson has joined as Features Editor.

A Look Ahead to 2026

Rob Jerram shared future plans: “We will cover more events and produce more engaging content across digital, print, and social media than ever before.” Such broad coverage ensures golfers can interact with TG wherever they choose.

Commercial Manager Jack Raynor added, “Our growth underscores the demand for high-quality golf content. The combination of a leading print title and expanding digital ecosystem offers an expansive platform to connect with passionate golfers.”

Special Editions and More

To further captivate audiences, the magazine will include additional content starting with a 48-page Masters special in its winter issues. Sponsored supplements are also planned for the season, promising to enrich each edition.
